A wonderful sunny, but cold day here in Berlin. We enjoy the whole day lovely bossa tunes. In November 1966 West German Jazz Author Legend Joachim E.Behrendt did a TV Special about Bossa Nova.Simply brilliant atmosphere and a sad document, because Sylvia Telles died a few weeks later in a car accident

The vinyl on the wonderful MPS Label

and Edu Lobo at his best. Band Line Up: Dom Salvador – Piano, Sérgio Barroso – Double Bass, Chico Batera – Drums, Meirelles – Flute, Hermes – Percussion

More bossa flavoured pearls from the DDR Amiga Label. The Orchester Günter Oppenheimer caress 1967 with Robins Bossa Nova on  the album

– Robins Bossa Nova

By the way.Do you know how to dance the Bossa Nova ? Here’s a fantastic document  and a big help

The next charming Song is composed by the Orchester Walter Eichenberg from the 7Inch

– Viele 1000 Briefe

This Song has everything what we love – jazzy waltz, bossa, flute, scat, drumbreak – simple, but fantastic Schlagersound with a quality you will not find today

from the DEFA movie Hochzeitsnacht im Regen Frank Schöbel with a big colorful butterfly

– Ein großer, bunter Schmetterling

Bossa Nova 2

Posted in Bossa Nova with tags , , , , , on 4. Mai 2010 by Musik Department

Willkommen beim Musik Department.

This week another two Bossa Nova Classics made in DDR / GDR. The Orchester Günther Kretschmer did fantastic work with the forgotten album Gross Stadt Rythmus / Big City Rhythm. We love the Cover and the Sound. The Tracks are titled Intim ( Intimate ), Florett ( Floret ) and the really grooving orchestra beat tune Platzregen (Cloudburst). All three were never released on CD.The Street on the Cover is the Schönhauser Allee here in Berlin, between S-Bahn Station and Stargarder Street.

Enjoy !!

Bossa Nova

Outside it’s grey and rainy here in Berlin. So we want post some warm and sunny sounds.Maybe the unknown german Bossa Nova Tune – Grade heute wären wir so gern allein. A beautiful song from an album called  – Träumend geht der Tag zu Ende. Music is from the Orch. J.Dannenberg and sung by S.Siewert and R.Demont. The Cover looks more like an instrumental cheesy sound vinyl and not for a fantastic bossa flavoured Chansons Album.Until today this song was not released on any DDR / GDR “ rare groove “ Compilation. That’s really sad.So here it is – enjoy it and the next time on a fleamarket, when you see this cover don’t think – this vinyl can’t work – it will !!!
